Strategy

Investment in skills for the work place has an important role to play in supporting economic development in Scotland. The Intraining Group through the brokerage will ensure that public resources, including funding is directed to learning that will best support the key sectors for developing the Scottish Economy.

For many years our innovative ‘brokerage model’ strategy of linking skills intervention to economic growth in other devolved nations has ensured longevity in the work based learning sector. We will continue to work with our partners and stakeholders in meeting both national and local skills priorities. Our extensive knowledge of work based learning and funding initiatives across the devolved nations allows and encourages employers of all sizes to engage in training programmes across all industry sectors and geographical locations in the up skilling of their employees.

Our unique connection with the activities of the Sector Skills Councils and our funding arrangements with Skills Development Scotland helps encourage employer engagement and uptake in work based learning initiatives.
