Strategy

Investment in skills for the work place has an important role to play in supporting economic development in Wales. The Intrainng Group will ensure that public resources, including funding is directed to learning that will best support the key sectors for developing the Welsh economy.

For many years our innovative ‘brokerage model’ strategy of linking skills intervention to economic growth in other devolved nations has ensured longevity in the work based learning sector. We fully support the Assemblies proposals for Sector Priority Funding and will work with our partners and stakeholders in meeting national priorities.

Our extensive knowledge of work based learning and funding initiatives across the devolved nations encourages employers to engage in training programmes across all industry sectors and geographical locations in up skilling their employees.
We do not ‘sell training’, we manage it. We are focused on employer led programmes, supporting and helping employers engage in Apprenticeships and Flexible Learning initiatives specific to their business skills needs and sector. Our unique connection with the activities of the Sector Skills Councils and the funding contracts with the Welsh Assembly Government will help encourage employer engagement across Wales.

The Intraining Group believes it already has in place the business model that meets the collaborative approach within the Transformation Agenda. This Partnership model has been running in Scotland for over 10 years under two different governments, with 55 sub contractors delivering achievement rates across key industry sectors well above national comparators.

Our business model encourages more collaborative working, to promote more choice and personalisation for learners, and to drive efficiencies in our partnership network.
