Helping you into work

Are you looking for work? If you are aged 19 or over, unemployed, receiving benefits and facing a skills barrier that is stopping you getting a job then we can help.

We can offer a free tailored package of support that will meet your specific needs. Accessing this support will not affect your benefits. Our support can include:

  • Training that is skills specific and equips you with skills to suit particular types of jobs in sectors that are recruiting in your local area
  • Basic skills such as literacy and numeracy
  • Employability skills such as team working, communication and job search
  • Work placements and voluntary work to help build your CV
  • Support through regular progress reviews with your personal advisor

Helping you with redundancy

We know that whether you are at risk of redundancy or have recently been made redundant you will be facing a period of uncertainty. If you are aged 19 or over we can work with you to make a positive impact during this period of change. We can help make the transition easier and improve your chances of finding work.  Our support will be tailored to your needs and can include:

  • Helping you to gain additional skills or develop new ones which match skills required by employers
  • Basic skills such as literacy and numeracy
  • Access to comprehensive careers advice and CV expertise
  • Preparation for self-employment, if that’s a route you wish to take

Skills support is available in West Midlands, North East and North West, this programme may be delivered by partner companies in some areas.
