Madam Mayor of Luton Cllr Naseem Ayub celebrates learners’ achievements at Intraining Luton Branch

Madam Mayor of Luton Cllr Naseem Ayub visited the Intraining Luton Branch to celebrate the achievement of our learners on the 12th July. The event, held for the 2nd year running, attracted representatives from different community organisations, including Luton Rights, the Probation Service and the local Job Centre. Madam Mayor delivered a speech to celebrate the learners’ achievements, while Cllr Mohammad Ayub was also in attendance to offer his warmest congratulations.

Attendees gathered to celebrate the achievements of the learners at the centre who have excelled in areas including ESOL, Functional Skills ICT, Maths and English (from Entry level 1 up to Level 2)

Madam Mayor of Luton Cllr Naseem Ayub said:

“Many of the learners graduating have successfully, through hard work and determination, overcome different barriers to employment, including weak language or social skills. Intraining and Rathbone have supported those in the community who may not always have had a conventional route to success available to them.”

Phillip McGeachy, - Intraining Regional Director, said:

“Following the positive results from our previous ceremony, we are so pleased to run the awards day again and incredibly proud to see an increase on graduating learners from the previous years. We offer a number of programmes to help learners achieve and have welcomed over 370 learners in this centre in the past 12 months alone.”

Student of the year awards were handed out, acknowledging the learners’ inspiring journeys, and detailing the progression and challenges they may have faced to unlock their potential. Some of the winners included Emiriona Bello- Functional Skills English Achiever of the year; Anna Szmulewska- ESOL Achiever of the year and a special recognition award went to Trudey Denham for her determination to overcome her PSD and gain a Level 3 diploma whilst also completing 50 hours of voluntary work.
